Better Local Representation at WordCamp Asia is all about making sure Asia Pacific voices are front and centre at the region's biggest WordPress event. Here's what you need to know:
Goal: Ensure at least 60% of WordCamp Asia speakers come from the Asia Pacific region
The problem: In 2025, only 38% of speakers were local — well below the organizers' own target
Progress: By 2026, that number jumped to 75.4% — great momentum!
Timeline: This initiative runs through April 2027
How you can help:
- Reach out to WordCamp organizers and push for more local speakers
- Apply to speak at a WordCamp Asia event
- Help spread the word
