Is it clear what we’re trying to do here?
We’ve added content quickly to get online sooner rather than later, but setting the technical foundation to grow quickly.
On the homepage we’re saying:
Our mission is to help WordPress professionals and businesses in APAC grow stronger, more sustainably, and be better represented in the WordPress ecosystem.
If you from the region or work for a company from the region, this website is for you. We want to come together as a collective to help each other succeed, and as a side effect, boost the region’s profile.
As a start, we want to get conversions going. We’ve set up a server on Discord and a Facebook Group. If we can get a decent amount of people involved, just that would be a big win. Following that, we’re keen to host regular online meetings – Meetup style.
The first things on the agenda are going to be:
- What are the challenges and opportunities?
- How can we help each other with both?
- What does the roadmap look like?
We’re not quite ready to formalize this initiative as a not-for-profit, or whatever type of entity works best, but the make it as easy as possible to have more people as possible participate. Membership is free, and we’re particularly keen to get people involved to help us shape WPapac at the very start of its existence.
